The ISO 9000 standards have become the international reference for establishing quality requirements in business-to-business dealings--more recently, in government-to-business dealings. ISO 9001:2000, published in December 2000, is the latest version of the standard and represents what experts around the world have agreed to as a state-of-the-art management system model.
Simply stated, it is a systematic approach to satisfying customer requirements. Systemizing ways of doing things ensures that nothing important is left out and that everyone is clear about who is responsible for doing what, when, how, why, and where.
MTC has put a Quality Management System (QMS) in place, based on the ISO 9001:2000 standard. The QMS provides company-specific mechanisms for managing, controlling, measuring, and improving the quality of our products and services, and is applied across the company.
In December 2001, MTC Technologies demonstrated that it met the quality management standards by engaging an accredited third party registrar to independently assess the QMS. As a result, in January 2002, MTC became certified as an ISO 9001:2000 company at the corporate level and at selected operational sites.
The MTC Quality Management System is fully described in the company's Quality Manual. Any MTC customer or potential customer can request a copy of this publication. MTC's point of contact is Mr. Bill Grunenwald, Vice President and Director of Quality.
